What Started ElleBeeCo?

Hey, I’m Lauren "Elle Bee"—a hairstylist, salon owner, and accidental clothing designer based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After years of living in bleach-stained clothes and watching every cute outfit die a slow, colorful death in the salon, I finally snapped. I kept thinking, “Why does no one make clothes that actually work for hairstylists?” So—naturally—I decided to make them myself, because chaos-fueled innovation is kinda my brand.

Here’s what happened: I noticed that my gym leggings and sportswear never stained, even after a full day behind the chair. Meanwhile, my regular clothes were falling victim to every splash of color, bleach, and whatever that mystery goo was. So I did my research, and turns out—it wasn’t just luck. Polyester (especially blends that are 75% or more) is scientifically proven to resist stains better than natural fibers like cotton or rayon. It absorbs less liquid, repels dyes more effectively, and doesn’t cling to salon chemicals the same way. That discovery was my lightbulb moment.

But let’s be real—I didn’t want to show up to work every day looking like I was on my way to pilates. I wanted clothes that were functional and professional. So I started building ElleBeeCo: a collection of high-performance, stain-resistant pieces that look polished, feel amazing, and can handle the chaos of salon life without sacrificing style. Every item is stylist-tested (by me, aggressively), made from durable, breathable, salon-friendly fabrics, and chosen with quality at the top of the list.

ElleBeeCo isn’t some corporate brand pretending to understand hairstylists. It’s me. And if you’re anything like me—you’re ready for clothes that finally get it. Each piece is named after a woman who’s played a meaningful role in my life—a small way to honor the people who’ve shaped me while building something for the people I work alongside every day.
